Anti-EU group in Iceland lies to the foreign press

The anti-EU group Heimssýn (special interest group under a false flag) has put out a false statement in regards to the parliament resolution (Icelandic) on regarding withdraw of the Iceland EU membership bid.

There statement is as follows, and has been sent to the foreign press in nearby countries, that are for the most part already members of the EU.

The statement can be read here, in english on a new anti-EU web page. It is run by a group of people that have connections to Davíð Oddsson editor in chef of Morgunblaðið. The statement is wrong, on what it claims. There are only one MP from thee parliamentary parties supporting this resolution, it only has support of one of them it seems (IP). They are from Independence party, Left Green party (the president of Heimssýn, Ásmundur Daði is a Left Green MP), and one member of Progressive Party that supports EU members according to it’s own manifest.

There currently is no chance that this resolution is going to pass in the parliament this summer or parliamentary sessions that happens next autumn. Currently there is no majority for this parliamentary resolution in the Icelandic parliament, and I doubt that they are going to get it at this time or later times. Regardless of opinions of Icelandic public, that remains mostly in the dark of the benefits of EU membership and what EU does today for it’s member states. But this is because IP did for a long time forbid any EU information in Iceland with indirect ways and with political power in the Icelandic media.
